Gurmit Singh, a well-known television personality, made his TV debut in 1994 hosting a live show called Live on 5. Over his 20-year career, he hosted numerous prominent programs such as the President’s Star Charity, The Singapore Idol, and The National Day Parade. He gained recognition as Phua Chu Kang in the sitcom Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd, winning the Best Comedy Actor Award five times at the Asian Television Awards. Gurmit's contributions earned him a place in the Madam Tussauds Museum. He also starred in movies, including Just Follow Law, earning a nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Horse Award. Recently, he released his autobiography, "What Was I Thinking." Now, Gurmit is spending more time with his family after transitioning away from full-time TV work.
